Emmanuel Rouget is a nephew of Burgundy legend Henri Jayer, his mentorship passed on a infectious enthusiasm and deep knowledge of winemaking. The vintage 2011 showcases spicy and fresh, yet restrained and cool nose of wet stone and high-toned red Pinot fruit leads into stony, intense, and beautifully delineated medium-bodied flavors. An abundance of dry extract effectively buffers the firm but ripe tannins, resulting in a stunningly long and youthfully austere finish.
